Bohemiskt Vårelopement Med Vintagekänsla I Seattle: Kaity + Mark
Kaity grew up in Columbia, South Carolina. After pursuing a degree in studio art at Columbia College, she worked as a print-based graphic designer for about a year. She felt unhappy in her career and decided to quit her job and move to Charlotte, North Carolina in August 2015 to attend a web development bootcamp. She didn't know anyone in the city and set out to find friends by attending a Reddit meetup. It was there she met several other new transplants to the Charlotte area. As a big craft beer lover eager to explore Charlotte's bounding brewery scene, Kaity asked her newly minted friends if they'd be interested in meeting up at a new brewery each week. They obliged. "Fun" employed with nothing to do until class in a few months, Kaity arbitrarily dubbed Tuesday nights as brewery meetup night.
Little did she know that Mark was also a Charlotte transplant that moved to the city in May 2015. Mark grew up in Columbus, Ohio and had just completed a degree in media production at Ohio University. He moved to Charlotte for his first job as a TV news director only days after graduation. Mark's work hours were rather atypical, and his "weekend" days were Monday and Tuesday. Mark was also eager to make new friends and was thrilled at the prospect of a social event on his "Sunday" nights.
Mark attended the first few brewery meetups which were bolstering with popularity. It wasn't until the 4th or 5th that Kaity and Mark actually got to have more than a 3 second conversation. The turnout was light at Triple C Brewing that night, enough to the point that the crew headed over to the old Common Market in South End after a few rounds. They sat next to each other on the back patio under the stars and they talked about music, not knowing that they'd be having these conversations together for the next 6 years...and the rest of their lives. The rest is history.
Kaity: We really wanted to have an intimate and meaningful ceremony where we could focus on the two of us instead of the stress that often comes with having a traditional wedding. We never wanted a big wedding, as both of us are rather introverted and don't enjoy being the center of attention.
We wanted a day that reflects our relationship and the bond we share. We were able to travel somewhere far from home, experience a unique adventure, and share deep and personal vows. We moved away from home and our families quite a while ago too, so doing something very personal and independently made sense to us.
Kaity: We eloped in Seattle at Kerry Park. We took a trip together to Seattle and Portland, Oregon back in 2017. It was the first big trip we had ever taken together. We fell in love with Seattle. It's such a cool city, and the Pacific Northwest in general is absolutely beautiful. While we love scenic views, we are such city people. We live in New York City and are suckers for an iconic city line. Seattle has one of the best, with the unique look of the Space Needle. It made for some amazing wedding photos and we're so happy with our decision to elope there.
Go for it! Ert bröllop ska spegla er som personer och vad ni vill att er stora dag ska vara. Följer ni era egna viljor, kan det inte bli annat än bra.
