Bohemiskt Bröllop Med Mycket Inspiration Till Dekoration
Tayler: Though we both attended the University of Central Florida, we didn’t meet in college. Looking back, it's crazy how many of the same events we simultaneously attended without ever meeting. We met after college through mutual friends. Josh had to ask me for a date a few times before I finally agreed. After our first date I think we both knew it felt right. Fast forward a few dogs later and we were in North Carolina for Labor Day when Josh got on one knee, at sunset, and asked me to spend the rest of his life with him.
Tayler: Our wedding was set in the mountains of North Carolina, which is a special place for me. Though Josh and I are both from South Florida, where we currently live, I've always felt a sense of place at my family's vacation home in North Carolina. When it came time to select the location for our wedding, I knew right away that I wanted it to be there.
The area around Highlands is widely known for it's vibrant fall foliage. We knew our guests would love the cooler temps and scenery as much as we do. We infused a lot of moody fall colors into our palette in a romantic, modern fashion. Emerald green, burgundy, merlot, and deep shades of pink were seen throughout the design in the flowers, and paper goods to provide a pop of color against the dark colors working against my mother's more traditional style. In keeping with a rich, moody look, we used some black and charcoal colors in many of the design elements including the custom dance floor. The shape of a leaf was a big pattern seen throughout my wedding. This motif was incorporated in our paper goods, my wedding dress, wedding bands, and Ketubah (Jewish wedding contract).
Tayler: Since our ceremony had to start after sundown, we put a lot of thought into how to light the space in an effective yet romantic way. Fortunately, there were dimmer switches available, so we used very soft lighting, with the strongest light on the Chuppah. Candles of various sizes were used in excess which made the space feel enchanted. We wanted to incorporate some black elements into the otherwise white ceremony space. So we used black chiavari chairs for the seating, which tied in beautifully with the black champagne cart in the foyer.
Tayler: We used a mix of wooden farm tables and round tables, with black and white tablecloths, for guest seating. Avoiding the use of traditional white china, we used contemporary black dinnerware.
