När Travys friade till Josie valde han att göra så i paradiset som kallas Hawaii. Tillsammans med fotografparet Aloha Zoe Photography planerade han ett överraskingsfrieri på en avskild plats precis där havet möter klippornas kant. Fotograferna Ryan och Corinne var på plats för att i hemlighet kunna dokumentera hela förlovningen från start till slut. Vilket minne att ha dokumenterat på bild!

Det blev en otroligt fin förlovning i solnedgången, och tillsammans med den känslosamma bildserien får vi även ta del av några ord från den glada, blivande brudgummen Travys.

Så träffades paret

We credit our meeting to a mutual friend, Timmy, who was one of Josie's oldest childhood friends and Travys' college roommate at UCI. After getting to know one another through summer adventures in Vegas and joining a church together, our friendship developed into a deeper relationship. Josie fell for Travys's sweet, quiet charm and Travys fell for Josie's kindness and fun-loving personality. Right before Josie started law school, we started dating. Defying all odds and bets on how long we would last, we dated for 7 years before we got engaged.

Frieri på Hawaii

Travys: Every proposal is special in it’s own unique way. After dating for 7 years, it was definitely time to propose and start the next phase of our lives. I had many outrageous ideas, some even as far as spontaneously showing up halfway around the world in Australia during Josie’s family trip. In the end it worked out best to plan a proposal in the beautiful Hawaiian islands.
Josie and I talked about having a destination wedding, and having the best photographer was something we highly valued. After Josie found Aloha Zoe Photography on Instagram, I reached out to Ryan and Corinne to see if they could not only shoot my proposal, but to help me plan it. From the moment I sent a message, they were extremely friendly and truly cared about creating the perfect scenario for a successful proposal.

Living in California, they helped streamline the process by providing me with ideas and images of perfect secluded spots to plan the engagement. They connected me with Kela Vargas to provide rose petals, a maile, and a beautiful flower crown. Shortly after we flew into Kona, Hawaii, Ryan and Corinne went to set up a rose petal arrangement near the ocean cliffside. As Josie and I walked across the property and onto the lava rocks, we went to a secluded area on the cliffs and found the heart shaped rose petal arrangement. As much as I tried to get the words out of my mouth, it started to get very emotional for the both of us and I quickly knelt and proposed.
Ryan and Corinne took some absolutely amazing and beautiful shots and we were able to take our engagement photos with the beach sunset as our backdrop. It was a truly amazing experience and a perfect setting for our proposal. I am very thankful for their guidance throughout the entire process, especially since we had never been to the Big Island.

Unlike most, the first 3 years of our relationship were long distance. With Josie attending school in Boston and Travys working in California, we had to learn to quickly build trust and communication without actually seeing one another. But through hours of phone conversations and thousands of texts, we created a true understanding and love for one another. Through years of distance, family opposition, and cultural differences, our friendship and genuine enjoyment of spending time with each other has carried us through.
