Det amerikanska paret Fawn och Justin gifte sig i San Francisco den 6 juli 2019. Efter att ha sett bilder från nära vänners bröllop som svenska fotografen Stina Gränfors fotograferat, bestämde de sig för att flyga över Stina för att föreviga deras dag på USAs västkust. Inför sitt bröllop inspirerades de av Hattmakarens tebjudning från Alice i underlandet. Bröllopet fylldes av färg och annorlunda detaljer och tillsammans med Stinas bilder ska vi få läsa en kort berättelse på engelska från brudgummen Justin.

Så träffades paret

Justin: "Fawn and I were working on opposite sides of a legal matter. My legal practice is irresistibly sexy."
Fawn: "Veni. Vidi. Vici."

Om klädseln

Justin: Classic, cute, and flirty wedding gown. Classic, cute, and flirty tuxedo that was super, super on sale and so on sale the sale's associate didn't want to sell it to me for the scanned and marked price and led to her saying to please not come back and ask for any more discounts.

Styling

Justin: We ran out of money so Fawn and I did our own hair and makeup.

Ceremonin

Justin: The ceremony started with me standing up front. A wedding march that I wrote for the occasion began playing. My son walked in with the mother of the bride, and he ran up to me and I held him for the rest of the ceremony (all spur of the moment). My groom's people came up and hugged me each individually. In a showing of strength, the bride's maids walked down the aisle together as a mass and separated onto both sides of me. The bride walked in. I met her half way down the aisle with our son, and we walked the rest of the aisle together, and stood at the alter together as a family.

Justin: Our dear, dear friends Fredrika and David sent us the link to their wedding photos and they were AMAZING! We figured that if we even got one photo as good as their photos we'd be happy. So we hired Stina, and well, we were dazzled.
Stina Granfors photos are honest and unconventional. She does a great job at capturing moments that are often lost- some are tender, some are funny and outrageous, and others are dramatic. But they are all really beautiful. And flying a Swede all the way over to San Francisco to photograph our wedding was the best decision of our wedding.

Blomster och dekorationer

Justin: Growing up in Oakland, I had a childhood friend who's family owned a small flower shop in Berkeley called Lee's Florist and Nursery. Just weeks before the wedding, I was glad to find that the shop was still up and running. We gave them a vision and they absolutely blew our freaking minds.
All other decorations had similar stories. Our plates we bought off a woman who spent years collecting a hodgepodge of floral china for her own wedding. Our linens were bought online. Vases were from several different places, ranging from dollar stores to Macy's.
And our absolutely amazing wedding planner, Claire Paquin, worked tirelessly to make sure that every detail was accounted for and that everything was perfect. The wedding Fawn and I planned should not have been as good as the wedding Claire created for us.

A perfect wedding day can be one filled with imperfections. All that matters are the people you share it with.
