fann kärleken i gymnasiet
Cerlina: We met back in high school when I just started at first year. Nikki was a senior. My new classmate Sara brought me with her to a bar to drink a beer with her friend Nikki. It was not love at first sight. Nikki thought I liked one of his friends and I thought he liked partying too much. But after running into each other at school a few times, we started texting. He found out that I didn’t like his friend and I realized he was the best and sweetest guy ever. Five months after our first meet, we changed our status at Facebook to ‘In a relationship’. Nine years and six months later Nikki asked me to marry him when we both were covered in mud after completing our first extreme race just him and me.
kyrklig vigsel med personlig historia
Cerlina: We got married in the church in the city Videbæk, Denmark where my husband grew up and where we wish to raise our own family one day. After our ‘I do’ we went up in the hills for location pics with our photographer. It was easy for us to choose this exact location since we have had many romantic dates under the stars there throughout the years.
The location of the wedding party, Muslingehuset, was close by and at a beautiful place down to a fishing lake. We decided on this destination because of its beauty but also because the house was rustic and a setting that we could transform to our own. The dream of our dream wedding was to make it as personal as possible, so this location was perfect. All elements of the wedding were either made by us or by friends and acquaintance. Also, we focused a lot on creating the same cozy atmosphere as we do when we have guests in our own home.
The day before our wedding day was a beautiful sunny summer day and the location was exceptional with its green area down to the fishing lake. But as we had feared it was not this perfect summer weather at our actual wedding day in fact it rained a lot. But it didn’t matter since the location was even more fantastic in that weather with the light it created. Luckily our wedding guests felt the same way. It was magical and our photographer must have experienced that too since he suggested to take some extra pictures of us down to lake in the evening – the result was incredible.
Cerlina: The ceremony was a traditional wedding ceremony for the Protestant church but I made a little twist with a surprise for my husband. Music has always been big part of my life so I sang a song that means a lot to my husband which we have heard at many romantic dinners. It is You and Me by Lifehouse. It was an amazing experience for both of us.
klädsel och styling
Cerlina: I wanted to look like myself and the woman my husband fell in love with. This meant that I would not have a big princess dress but a simpler and modern dress and styling. Also, I wanted to look a bit sexy for my husband. I wanted to be me so my hair of natural curls was a big and essential part of my look. My curls were my veil.
om fotografen Martin freidel
Cerlina: We were looking for a photographer who was not only good at taking pictures but also moments and we found Martin. Beside being good at taking moments, his style was perfect for us. We love the pictures from our day and we are thankful for his professionalism.
blomster
Cerlina: Since we wanted a down-to-earth wedding we chose not to have a lot of flowers and big flower arrangements. An old friend of ours is a florist so together with her we chose to only use a few white roses and a lot of different greens so the look was simple, modern and rustic which supplement my styling, theme and the location.
personligt bröllop med blå och rosa detaljer
Cerlina: The overall theme was a personal wedding, a real Nikki and Cerlina-wedding. This meant for example that the colors for invites, place cards and napkins etc. were our favorite colors of blue and pink. Also, we love good wine so we used corks as holders for place cards and bottles with writing to show the seating plan.
parets bästa minnen från sin bröllopsdag
Cerlina: When I sang to my husband and Nikki's amazing speech to me. Also, the moment after we took the pictures at the lake in the evening because when we walked back to the party we could hear people talking and laughing. We could between trees see the cosy light in Muslingehuset that created the exact atmosphere we had been striving.
råd till andra som planerar sitt bröllop
Cerlina: Have a talk with your future husband- or wife-to-be about what it is important to make it your dream wedding and especially remember that it is okay to take crazy and untraditional decisions if it is decisions that are the right ones for you.
