With the rising costs of weddings and the stress that involves planning a traditional wedding, many couples are choosing to elope. Some travel to romantic destinations and enjoy the time with each other. Others choose a beautiful spot near home to tie the knot. The stillness and intimacy of an elopement style wedding allows for the bride and groom to reflect and be themselves. It also allows couples to splurge on what is most important to them. Maybe a beautiful dress, flowers, or a good photographer who will capture the raw emotion and the beautiful surroundings.

Here we put together a shoot for inspiration. If hiking to a mountaintop or any distance, it is important to wear something you can move a little in. This romantic, boho style dress by Claire Pettibone is soft and comfortable (The bride hiked 4 miles total in it). The flowers looked gorgeous with the surroundings and the floral crown was a romantic/natural touch. Flowers add so much to the photos. We love these arrangements by Willow Specialty Florist and how they fit so well with the surrounding nature. Some couples choose to invite a few close family members or friends or simply send out an elopement announcement. We got these simple and elegant announcement samples from Björn Press.
